As hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in our skin, the treatment can be used anywhere on the body. Common areas of treatment include:
The substance is injected just below the skin’s surface and disperses quickly across the skin. For the face, we use the BAP technique with 5 injection sites on each side of the face to maximise the diffusion of the HA. As a stabilised product Profhilo® lasts in the skin around 28 days during which time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA.
Lines and wrinkles will become less noticeable after treatment with Profhilo, restoring a natural looking youthful appearance and the treatment takes no longer than 45 minutes.
HOW DOES PROFHILO® WORK?
The high-purity hyaluronic acid used in Profhilo® is released slowly, stimulating the production of collagen which renews and rejuvenates the appearance of the skin.
There is minimal downtime or discomfort. For best results 2 treatments are recommended, one month apart; results can last for up to 6 months and maintenance is highly effective, this is dependent on individual lifestyle circumstances, top up appointments may be recommended more frequently to achieve your desired results.
The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement; Profhilo® is not only a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
There are many characteristics that make Profhilo® unique from anything else available on the market right now. There is no BDDE content. It is thermally cross-linked generating stabilised hybrid co-operative complexes of H-HA and L-HA. Despite its high HA content, it has a low inflammatory profile coupled with pro-healing properties backed by clinical studies. To fully understand this new concept in anti-ageing medicine we have to take a look at the technology first.
PROFHILO® is not a dermal filler or bio-revitaliser; Profhilo® has opened up a new injectable category - bio-remodeling. Thermal cross-linking changes the character and behaviour of the HA resulting in the formation of co-operative hybrid complexes which modulate the tissues. This is also the explanation for the different biological behaviour with respect to H-HA and L-HA alone. One of the main advantages is longevity. Hybrid cooperative complexes have proven to be very stable with natural hyaluronidase (BTH) digestion when compared to H-HA, widely used in bio-revitalisation products, or L-HA alone resulting in the long-lasting release and the dual action of the two HA components. This dual action is ideal for remodelling skin laxity.
HIGHEST CONCENTRATION ON THE MARKET
PROFHILO® contains 32mg of low molecular weight HA (80-100Kda) and 32 mg of high molecular weight HA (1100-1400Kda). This gives one of the highest concentration of HA on the market totalling 64 mg of HA in a 2ml prefilled syringe.
